Asheville Mountains Wedding | Abbey & Blake

Y’all know anytime I get a call inquiring about a wedding in the mountains of Western North Carolina, my heart soars!

Having grown up 15 minutes outside of Asheville, this area holds a special place in my heart.

When Abbie and Blake reached out and told us about their dreamy spring wedding weekend, we couldn’t wait to get the planning started!

There are so many beautiful and unique places in the Asheville area that are perfect for weddings: Biltmore Estate (of course), The Omni Grove Park Inn, and Downtown Asheville with its endearing quirkiness - so we decided to hit all the highlights!

A+B decided to stay at the Grove Park to get ready for their wedding day and to do their first look with the perfect mountain backdrop. Not to mention the Sunday brunch at the Grove Park is a bomb! If you are ever in Asheville, I highly recommend it!

Abbie and Blake also chose the most beautiful chapel to be married in, which is right outside the gates of Biltmore in what is known as Biltmore Village, All Souls Cathedral.

This church is steeped in history from its stained glass windows, intricately carved wood details, and original interior decor dating back to the 1890s when it was commissioned by the Vanderbilts and designed by the architect who created the Biltmore House!

Next stop, we selected “The Venue” on North Market Street in Downtown for the reception space. Not only it is absolutely stunning, but it is also the only cobblestone street in Asheville!

The space has so much charm, with exposed brick and beams, vintage tiled floors and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city. We knew we wanted to include some really interesting focal pieces in the space, so we brought in the uber-talented floral designer, Floressence out of Brevard, NC to create a head table installation that was to die for!

The spring palette was full of such interesting blooms from double tulips to giant coral ranunculus, and gorgeous fresh poppies!

Eatherley, the designer of Floressence is such an artist! It’s so much fun working alongside her to create a unique and bold look for Abbie + Blake.

The 16ft hanging install was a showstopper! We also created a floating seating chart in the cocktail hour that was framed in cascading florals and was suspended from the ceiling!

Abbie and Blake created a craft cocktail that we named after their sweet puppy! We couldn’t let the opportunity passed without doing matching custom napkins with his silhouette! SO cute!

The Venue specializes in family-style food service and they didn’t disappoint. The chef served a choice of Tuscan Style Salmon or Wood-Grilled Chimichurri Flat Iron Steak, paired with locally sourced farmers market vegetable, and bacon-wrapped potato gratin with smoked gouda. Y’all my mouth is watering telling you about it!

In all, it was such a pretty day for a wonderful couple! We can’t wait to get back to Asheville to do it again!
